Legal Retainers – 16 Posts Last Date: 15/01/2013


Subject:- Engagement of Legal Retainers on contract basis.
The  Central Information Commission  has been  created under the Right to
Information Act 2005 for adjudication of appeals and complaints under the said Act. The
Commission seeks to engage on contract basis upto 16 young law graduates to work as
Legal Retainers with the following functions:-
(a) Preparing case briefs and identification of the legal issues.
(b) Legal research.
(c) Preparing counters for writ petitions.
(d) Any other legal work assigned by the Commission.
2. Law graduates [from a recognized  University or equivalent];  who have not
completed  28 years of age as on the last date of the submission of applications are
eligible to be considered for aforesaid engagement:-
3. The selection shall be made on the basis of an interview by a Selection
Committee. The engagement shall be on contract basis initially for a period of one year
which may be extended for a maximum further period of two years at the discretion
of the Competent Authority  in the Commission  subject to satisfactory performance of
such person.
4. The selected candidates shall be paid a consolidated sum of Rs. 25, 000/ p.m.
5. The  contract of legal  retainers engaged may be terminated  at  any time by the
Commission without assigning any reason by giving a notice of 15 days. In case, a legal
